Various designs now require the use of bosses for inserts. The Boss Calculator can be used to determine if the diameter of the boss or insert is within design guidelines and safety factor being considered for the application. This tool, along with the Snap Fit and Thermal Stress & Expansion Calculators, has been made more interactive - a selected grade of resin will pre-populate the property information data needed to run the calculation. These tools can help identify the best combination of design and material selection to meet application needs.
