Sizing

Sizing - The process of applying a material to a surface to fill pores and thus reduce the absorption of the subsequently applied adhesive or coating or to otherwise modify the surface. Also, the surface treatment applied to glass fibers used in reinforced plastics. The material used is sometimes just called size.
