|
AdvanSource Biomaterials manufactures and markets elastomeric alloys and compounds under the trade name PolyBlend™. We offer several durometers of polyurethane alloys, each having its own specific characteristics and unique properties.
PolyBlend™ 1100 is a family of super-soft, extrudable, and injection moldable aromatic polyurethane elastomeric alloys. Ranging in hardness from 45 Shore A to 80 Shore A, and is offered as either translucent or radiopaque resins. Outstanding characteristics of this family of compounds are low flexural modulus, high tensile strength, and moderate elongation. The result is a polymer having a very soft texture, making it suitable as a substitute for natural rubber latex in many applications. PolyBlend™ 1100 super-soft resins contain a small amount of biocompatible plasticizer. This plasticizer imparts several desirable processing characteristics exhibited by these unique polymers, such as good melt strength allowing for high draw down ratios. PolyBlend™ 1100 extrudates exhibit good melt strength with a minimum of sag. Low initial tack allows immediate stacking or winding of the extrudate. |
