General Information
Product Description

Grivory GV-5H is a 50% glass fiber-reinforced, partially aromatic polyamide designed for die cast metal replacement. Grivory GV grades have very low warpage and high stiffness and strength (high tensile strength and high flexural modulus). They also have excellent dimensional stability, meaning that the mechanical properties are virtually unaffected by humidity. Grivory GV-5H is in compliance with FDA Regulations CFR21, paragraph 177.1500.
Grivory Superstiff exhibits good injection moldability and surface finish, an unusual trait for materials with such high glass loadings. Grivory GV grades also exhibit less tool abrasion than other comparably filled nylons. Like most nylons, Grivory has good chemical resistance. Using Grivory Superstiff instead of die cast metals has many advantages. Parts made from Grivory Superstiff have lower weight, are free from corrosion, and require little or no finishing (cleaning, machining, deflashing, painting, etc). In addition, tool life span for Grivory is greater than that of a metal die cast tool. These advantages over die cast metals lead to lower production costs, typically between 20 and 50 percent.
