SuperNova CX - Novachem - Proprietary Plastic

SuperNova CX by NOVACHEM is a Proprietary (Proprietary) plastic material.

SuperNova CX Chemical Purging Compound is NOVACHEMs brand of ammonia-free, polyolefin-free high performance purging product. It is designed especially for use with clear polycarbonate and clear acrylic resins. Because polycarbonate and polyolefins (including PE) are immiscible, the use of a PE-containing purging product (like the basic SuperNova products) can lead to unacceptable levels of post-purge haze and clouding. The severity of the problem varies, depending on the configuration of the process equipment. The use of SuperNova CX eliminates this problem.

The post-purge clouding problem also occurs in some cases with acrylic resins (PMMA). Because SuperNova CX Ready-Mix is supplied with a polycarbonate carrier resin, acrylic processors who wish to purge with CX must use the Concentrate and mix it with their own acrylic carrier resin.

SuperNova CX Chemical Purging Compound is available in two forms: Ready-Mix, which is used as supplied, with PC only, or as a Concentrate, to which the end user adds an appropriate carrier resin for PC or acrylic. The Ready-Mix form is not suitable for use with acrylic.
