Product Description
The Setilithe®, Plastiloid® e Bioceta® granules are based on plasticized cellulose acetate.
They are prepared starting from natural and renewable sources such as cotton flakes and wood pulp through an esterification process with acetic anhydride.

The subsequent mixture with plasticizers, additives and pigments gives the finished product the flexibility , resistance , brightness and colour wished.

The natural origin of the product gives cellulose acetate granules a set of peculiar characteristics seldom seen in other synthetic resins:

  • Clearness and brightness
  • A pleasant touch and a self -smoothing surface
  • Excellent acoustical qualities and sonority close to that of wood
  • Good impact resistance
  • Excellent resistance to eddy currents
  • Very good resistance to oils and grease
  • Very good resistance to light and ageing.

The trade marks offered are Setilithe® and Plastiloid®: they differ in quality, process ability and range of available colours.

  • The range of plasticizer content for Setilithe® trade mark varies from 22% and 38%, with formulations of General Purpose "E" and Low Migration "D".
  • For granules Plastiloid® the range of plasticizer content varies from 18% and 40%, with formulations of General Purpose "MGP", Low Migration "MIX" and some others special.
  • Bioceta® is the trade mark that distinguishes the biodegradable cellulose acetate granules, produced on the basis of an exclusive patent.
