Product Description
Polybutylene terephthalate compounds for headlight bezels with low fogging even at high operating temperatures

VESTODUR X9417 black E70286
Glass fiber-reinforced compound for parts with high surface quality

The mentioned compounds are semicrystalline thermoplastic compounds based on PBT, all suitable for injection molding. Even at temperatures up to 160°C, they exhibit very little gassing, therefore being best suited to manufacture parts like headlight bezels. The VESTODUR® compounds recommended here make it possible to manufacture complex, precisely fitting headlight geometries, giving designers more freedom in their designs.
Textured, mostly black or gray bezel surfaces are also possible. The finished headlight bezels resist warpage and are thermally stable. Their surfaces can at any rate be metallized in the high surface quality required by the automotive industry, even when textured.

The fogging behavior can be tested by the „Fogging test" according to DIN 75201. High fogging values (>90 %) mean low outgassing behavior.
