ALKAMIX™ MB-SAMBA

ALKAMIX™ MB-SAMBA is a slip masterbatch formulated with Erucamide at a concentration of 2%.

ALKAMIX™ MB-SAMBA can be added to polyethylene during extrusion to reduce the coefficient of friction of films. The level required will vary according to coefficient of friction desired, gauge of film, polymer type (LLDPE,LDPE, etc…) and other factors such as the presence of other additives (including antiblocks, colourants / pigments, etc...). For injection moulded articles, typical addition rates of MB-SAMBA of up to 2.0% are recommended due to the thickness of the moulded article. Higher addition rates may result in problems with printing or label adhesion, or possibly warpage.

The maximum level of addition of ALKAMIX™ MB-SAMBA based on both good manufacturing practice and to ensure conformance to the requirements to the United States Food and Drug Administration Regulations CFR21 is the minimum required to achieve the desired effect. When added to a polyethylene formulation free of any slip additives, the maximum recommended level is 10%.
