Product Description
Borstar CB9600 is the first bimodal high-density coating grade produced using the unique Borstar PE technology. The process controls the polymer's molecular structure and is designed to produce bimodal polyethylene with optimal final product application properties.

The tailor made molecular structure, focusing on extrusion coating targets, gives Borstar CB9600 clear processability benefits compared to standard, unimodal HDPE. The bimodal molecular weight distribution also enhances certain end-product properties like water vapour barrier.

Borstar CB9600 is suitable for a wide range of applications where either property enhancement or material downgauging is a target. The usage of Borstar CB9600 does not require any extruder modifications. Compared to standard HDPE, Borstar CB9600 gives undoubtedly higher line speed and lower neck-in, without coating weight variation. Due to lower optimal processing temperature, Borstar CB9600 also allows energy savings. High density and bimodal structure guarantee extremely low water vapour transmission rate (WVTR) in final products coated with Borstar CB9600. It has also high temperature and grease resistance. Borstar CB9600 is optimal also in cases where low surface friction or improved mechanical properties, like stiffness, are needed. Having excellent film appearance, Borstar CB9600 is suitable also for the most challenging applications like coating of photographic paper. CB9600 is recommended to be used either in co-ex or as blended with autoclave coating PE.
