Product Description
InChemRez Hydroxy-Purge 8C is a thermoplastic organic resin alloyed with inert minerals designed to efficiently and effectively clean conventional reciprocating screw molding systems. The organic thermoplastic resin is characterized as a tough and ductile thermoplastic amorphous polymer having excellent thermal stability and wetting characteristics.

Hydroxy-Purge 8C offers a light to intermediate level of "scrubbing" characteristics for use at temperatures between 350 and 560°F. Typically, four pounds per diameter inch of Hydroxy-Purge 8C is recommended for standard cleaning (refer to InChem publication "Instructions For Use In Injection Molding Equipment" for complete list of parameters and use suggestions).

Hydroxy-Purge 8C is highly effective because:
  • the proprietary formulation works under high agitation to dislodge contaminants;
  • formulation contains resins and agents to wet out pigments efficiently resulting in short cleaning cycles;
  • of less adhesion to internal metal surfaces.

FDA Status of Hydroxy-Purge 8C
InChemRez Hydroxy-Purge 8C is intended for use as extruder purge compounds. The resinous portion of Hydroxy-Purge 8C is compliant with numerous FDA requirements including coatings for direct and indirect food contact (21CFR175.300), adhesives (21CFR175.105), and as a component for articles intended for repeated use producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food (21CFR177.2280).

The inorganic portion of Hydroxy-Purge 8C is compliant with the guidelines of 21CFR182.2727, i.e., Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS).

Safety and Handling
Hydroxy-Purge 8C is sold in 45 kg drums, 114 kg drums, and 500 kg gaylord. The compound is indefinitely stable in unopened containers when stored at normal temperatures.

Consult the product MSDS for additional information on properties, hazards, and handling.
