| Founded in 1996, Innova went into operation in 2000 with its styrene unit. The plant was part of the strategy of its early controller - the Argentine multinational Perez Companc - of expanding its business onto several Latin American countries. Innova, which was installed in a strategic position for Mercosur in a 25-hectare area in the South Petrochemical Complex at Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), had its shareholding composition altered in 2003 when PeCom Energia in Argentina was bought by Petrobras, thus originating Petrobras Energia, which in now the controlling shareholder of the company. | |
