IDES | Search of the Week: Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion (CLTE or ASTM D696)

September 17, 2007 - In this week's search of the week video we highlight Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion (CLTE also known as ASTM D696). CLTE is measured using a silica dilatometer. A specimen is placed inside a silica tube and silica rod is inserted into the tube. A dial gage or similar device is attached to the rod.
