Florham Park, N.J., May 1, 2007 – Effective June 1, 2007 BASF Corporation will increase the selling prices of its Styrolux® and Styroclear® SBC resins by $0.04 per pound. This new increase is in addition to the previously announced $0.04 per pound price increase effective May 1, 2007.

Although BASF continually works to optimize operations to help offset increasing costs, the industry continues to endure unprecedented costs for raw materials, transportation and energy requiring BASF to implement this price increase.

Styrolux is BASF’s trademark for a portfolio of clear styrene-butadiene copolymers used in injection molding and extrusion thermoplastic applications that offer outstanding clarity, exceptional toughness and low density. Styrolux is used for medical applications, food service products such as thermoformed clear drinking cups and plates, shrink labels, film wrap, toys and household appliances. Styroclear® is a line of injection-molding resins for premium-quality, clear garment hangers.
