DuraWipe® XTRA Wipes Featuring Spinlace™ Technology Debut at ISSA Show

[ORLANDO, Fl.] Oct. 23 -- Chicopee, Inc., a division of Polymer Group, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: POLGA/POLGB), today introduced new extended use heavy-duty industrial cleaning wipes that feature a pulp-based three-layered material construction and the latest Spinlace® technology to deliver greater absorption and strength with lower linting at value pricing.

The company debuted its new DuraWipe® XTRA wipe made with Spinlace™ technology at the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA)/Interclean show on Oct. 23-26, in Orlando, Fla. (Booth # 509).

Made with a highly absorbent core pulp, DuraWipe® XTRA wipes quickly absorb water and oil, while the outer layers reduce linting. These high-end wipes are compatible with both oil- and water-based solvents and can be used in a variety of heavy-duty repeated use cleaning applications.

DuraWipe® XTRA wipes are the first product from Chicopee to feature the company’s new Spinlace™ technology that combines several technologies and processes, including its proprietary Apex™ process, to create stronger, highly absorbent nonwoven materials with a better value proposition than traditional wipes.

DuraWipe® XTRA wipe’s additional layer and pulp center makes it stronger than regular two-layered wipes in wet and dry cleaning uses. These fabrics are also soft to the touch, like cloth towels, have a uniform appearance and can incorporate three-dimensional images for additional performance characteristics.

“In institutional and industrial wiping applications, we recognized a gap between performance and price,” said Dave Beck, Chicopee’s senior director of sales and marketing. “This product, made using our latest nonwoven material technology, answers a critical market need for high-performing engineered materials that provide a superior solution and deliver added value because of their pricing and extended use.”

“These strong and absorbent industrial wipes are designed for tough tasks from wiping up oil, grease and leaks to multiple uses throughout the day by maintenance staff performing routine upkeep on heavy machinery, while having a soft, cloth-like feel to workers’ hands and faces,” he said.

The new enhanced product joins the company’s DuraWipe® family of polyester/pulp-based products. DuraWipe® XTRA wipes will be available in pop-up boxes, jumbo rolls and quarter folds.
