Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Rulon® 123 has proven itself as the ideal sealing material for EGR-Systems. The combination of material characteristics and the expertise in material processing & assembly of the EPP Business unit, result in an effective sealing component. This component can by used in the EGR-Valves as well as in the EGR-By Pass System. This solution has already been adopted by some key players of the fast growing market of emissions reduction devices for the car industry.

Rulon® 123 is a glossy black non-abrasive specialty PTFE compound especially developed for softer mating surfaces. It features high resistance to deformation, low coefficient of friction and good thermal and electrostatic dissipation. It also maintains enough rigidity over the temperature range to hold a good sealing which is critical in EGR-applications.

The Rulon® Materials of the Saint-Gobain Company consist of specialty PTFE Compounds. Saint-Gobain offers over 50 years of development and experience in creating these special PTFE formulations which feature specific fillers to enhance overall performance.

Today Rulon® bearings, seals, rings, wear components, etc, are used in a wide range of mechanical, electrical & chemical applications in industry.
