WILMINGTON, Del., April 9, 2008 – DuPont Engineering Polymers announces price increases for thermoplastic resins effective May 1, 2008, in both North America and South America.
Prices for standard thermoplastic resin grades will increase as follows:
- DuPont™ Zytel® nylon, DuPont™ Minlon® and DuPont™ Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamide products will increase $0.12/lb.;
- DuPont™ Crastin® PBT, DuPont™ Rynite® PET , DuPont™ Thermx® high-performance polyester, and DuPont™ Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer products will increase $0.10/lb.
Specialty grades and colors in all thermoplastic product families will increase by a larger amount.
DuPont strives continuously to offset escalating costs with productivity programs and other containment measures. However, the magnitude of the increases for raw materials, such as unprecedented increases in ammonia and continued escalation of other materials derived from oil and natural gas, make these price increases unavoidable.
