Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc (APNA) announced today that it will raise the price of all of its thermoplastic products by 20 percent, effective July 15th, 2008. The increase will affect all shipments in the US, Canada, & Mexico.
John Moyer, President of Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc. said, “We’ve worked hard to contain and reduce our costs in every area of our business. Unfortunately, we continue to be negatively impacted by unrelenting and escalating increases in all feedstock, transportation, and energy prices, and can no longer absorb these extraordinary costs. Taking this difficult but unavoidable action will allow us to continue delivering the high-quality products and services our customers need to help them meet the challenging demands of the global marketplace. Going forward, we will continue to closely monitor changes in feedstock streams and energy costs and when necessary, we will initiate appropriate measures to maintain and improve our ability to supply.”
