WILMINGTON, Del., June 12, 2008 – DuPont Engineering Polymers announces price
increases for acetal and polyester standard resins and higher price increases for specialty resins in the Americas effective July 1, or as contracts permit.
DuPont™ Delrin® acetal will increase $0.10/lb. DuPont Engineering Polymers polyester products will increase $0.15/lb. Increases for specialty products, such as DuPont™ Zenite® LCP, will be higher.
This increase reflects extraordinary escalation in costs for raw materials derived from oil and natural gas, as well as continued acceleration of energy, transportation and logistics costs.
DuPont Engineering Polymers has implemented aggressive cost-cutting and consolidated
global operating strategies to help absorb raw material increases, but the magnitude of recent and
recurring increases makes it imperative for DuPont Engineering Polymers, being firmly committed to
operating a long-term sustainable business strategy, to offset some increases.
