DuPont Engineering Polymers was announced Polymer Producer of the Year for the third time at the annual Plastics Industry Awards, held in London on 20 June 2008. As in previous years, DuPont’s technical materials and support were key factors when customers in the plastics industry were asked to vote in the materials supplier category. The company has now completed a hat trick of titles, winning the same category in 2001 and 2003.

According to the organisers’ evaluation, “DuPont’s stable of engineering polymers, coupled with the technical support for which the company is renowned, proved successful in this year’s awards. DuPont scored strongly in numerical votes, receiving its highest voter rating for the levels of material quality and performance.” The company’s strength in innovation, in terms of both material and application development, was also recognised.

After personally accepting the award on behalf of DuPont, Myriam Vansteenkiste, sales manager Northern Europe at DuPont Engineering Polymers, commented: “We would like to thank all the people who voted for us, which we see as a great vote of confidence in our team, and the service they provide. We were particularly pleased to see the recognition for our innovation and technical support, which are both of major benefit to our customers when coping with difficult trading conditions. The annual Plastics Industry Awards are organised by UK trade magazine Plastics and Rubber Weekly in association with the British Plastics Federation, with the aim of recognising and celebrating achievements in the UK plastics industry.
