IDES Launches The Plastics Web® BETA

As part of our mission to make the world's plastics information universally accessible and useful, we're testing a new version of The Plastics Web®.

The Plastics Web® is a complimentary service connecting you with more rich content about plastics materials. Data includes complete supplier directories categorized by generic family, chemical resistance data, extensive processing information, and 4,000 other pages chock-full of useful plastics info.

To Access The Plastics Web®:
Login to Prospector and click on the 'Resources' tab.

If you're particularly interested in what we're up to, read on...

Phase I of The Plastics Web® comprized of extensive hours from the IDES team. We gathered information from the Prospector database and the Internet, and repackaged the content it into a useful, easy-to-use website.

Right now we're actively working on Phase II. When the second phase is complete, the site will seamlessly integrate with Prospector by remembering your login information.

The BIG NEWS Comes with the Third and Final Phase!
Have you ever tried to search for 'Nylon' using Google, Yahoo or any other search engine? The results are --- disappointing to say the least.

During Phase III, we plan to release a search engine for the plastics community. It will be similar to other search engines, but will only include plastics-related web sites. So, when you search for 'Nylon', you're guaranteed to see Polyamide search results --- not sites where you can buy pantyhose.

Resin Pricing Report Update

Last week we updated the Resin Pricing Report which collects data from our Prospector members. Thanks to everyone who is participating in this useful project. To recap, X5 members can submit pricing data or review the pricing report at anytime by logging into Prospector and clicking on the 'Resources' tab.
