New!
Drying
Plastics by John Bozzelli
Why is drying plastic so important?
Of
course, it is to get the moisture out but why does
the moisture have to be taken out before processing.
If materials like nylon, polycarbonate, PBT, PET and
a host of others are processed without removing the
water, the physical properties of that resin/part
will be destroyed. During processing, there is a chemical
reaction (hydrolysis) going on in the barrel making
the long polymer chains shorter...

New!
Processor
Portal: a searchable directory of Processors
on The Plastics Web®
Due
to increased demand from OEMs to locate the right
Processor to mold their products, IDES is building
a searchable directory of Processors on The Plastics Web® called the 'Processor Portal.'
There
are two ways to promote your business to OEMs:
- Listing
(a simple listing of your company)
- Profile
(a web page describing your capabilities)
To
get listed, call 800-788-4668 or 307-742-9227 ext.
