Can I preview courses before purchasing them?
Yes, Paulson Training provides a 3-5 day trial depending upon the courses that you are interested in. Just let us know which course you'd like to preview and we'll reply with a temporary username and password to login to the training system.
Is it all text on a screen, or is there narration?
All the Paulson Training programs utilize the latest technologies in video on the web, 3-D graphics, narration and interactivity.
Is the pace controlled by the user (user can click to next and previous screens)?
The pace is entirely user controlled. You can 'rewind' the course to review material. Additionally, if you log off at any point during a particular lesson, the next time you log on, it will pick up where you left off.
Is this a one-time use or can the buyer access the site for a specific (or unlimited) number of times, within a specific (or unlimited) time period?
For the license fee, users can log on and use the training on an unlimited basis for 12 months.
Is the unlimited 12 month license fee for multiuser access or just single user access?
Each user (employee) needs their own license. This approach makes accurate record keeping possible maintains the integrity of the training database. When a user logs on secure to their own account, he/she is sees their own individual training curricula (i.e. the lessons they’re schedule to take or have already taken). Everyone learns at different speeds and this personal approach accommodates that.
Can the training programs be downloaded to the buyer's computer?
Training cannot be downloaded, it is server based. The user can log on at anytime, from anywhere, with an internet connection.
Can the buyer send tech questions by email to Paulson or the author(s) and expect prompt answers?
Paulson Training has an outstanding tech support department that is available by phone during normal business hours; via email 24/7.
Is it available in Spanish?
Their Extrusion Training package is online only in English at the present time. They do have the course in Spanish in its CD delivery method and plan to offer this version online too.
When was it written (year)?
The bulk of the course was written and produced between 1998 and 2002.
Who are the author(s)?
The lead subject matter expert is Donald Paulson, who received a “Lifetime Engineering Achievement Award” in 2006 from the Society of Plastics Engineer’s (SPE). Mr. Paulson is one of the most respected educators, innovators, researchers and engineers in the industry since the 1960’s. The co-author is Chris Rauwendaal, one of the preeminent extrusion industry experts working today.
Can a prospective buyer get an outline of the package before buying?
Yes, you can find a more detailed outline of the subject matter at their website. The course consists of approximately 12-15 hours of training on extrusion processing from the basics to advanced problem solving.
Are updates to be expected, and if so, how often and under what terms?
One of the advantages of the web delivery model is that updates occur without interruption to the user base. Routine updates like bug fixes are performed as needed and are invisible to the user. Subject matter is updated as needed as new technologies become commonplace in the industry. All updates they make to any courseware you are licensed to view are free of charge.
