Overview of Acetal (Acetal)

Overview of Acetal (Acetal) including background, history, advantages, limitations and typical applications.

Background: The acetal polymer (POM) class was first introduced in 1956 and has achieved important application because of a good profile of properties. Two types of acetals available are a homopolymer and a copolymer with slightly different advantages for each. Acetals are available in fiber reinforced and lubricated molding grades as well as extruded shapes for machined parts.
