Background: Polybutylene (PB) was first created in 1954, a year after polypropylene. However, the first industrial production was not available until 10 years later under the name Vestolen BT from Chemische Werke HULS, Germany. More recently, Basell Polyolefins has been the primary supplier of PB-1 grades.
