1,000 Injection Molders Register for Access to IDES' Database

LARAMIE, Wyo. - January 28, 2004 - Just hours after IDES released a new plastics data service for Processors and OEMs, the registration page for Prospector was filled with buzz. During the first day of service, over 1,000 Injection Molders registered to obtain an account to search IDES' database of 50,000 materials.

"The response is overwhelming," said Mike Kmetz, President of IDES. "Prospector allows Injection Molders to quickly retrieve a material's datasheet to review processing information such as Drying Temperature, Drying Time and Processing (Melt) Temperature."

Prospector is a web-based application where users can search for materials by Product Name, Manufacturer/Supplier, Material Family and Applications. Data updates are posted every two weeks and the tool includes a Molding Troubleshooter and Glossary of Plastics. Access is provided at no cost to qualified buyers of plastics by registering at www.ides.com/x5/register
