LARAMIE, Wyo. – July 7, 2005 – IDES, a plastic materials information management company, today announced the published release of their anticipated Resin Pricing Report. IDES gathers pricing information from over 14,000 resin buyers. They then aggregate the data into a report that is recurrently updated and available through their Prospector plastics search engines. “To obtain true market price, we work closely with resin buyers to submit historical material buying information including grade, product name, special features like medical or glass-filled, annual volume in pounds, and the price paid per pound,” said Mike Kmetz, IDES President. “Already the report is providing value to resin buyers who can quickly see how their spending compares to the rest of the market.” Pricing information is available for all major resin families (including Nylon, ABS, Polypropylene, etc.) and placed into three volume categories; less than 10,000 lbs., 10,000 – 100,000 lbs., and more than 100,000 lbs. Within each category, pricing is displayed from low to high with a column reporting the average price paid. If resin buyers determine that they are paying too much for a particular resin, they can subscribe to IDES’ Prospector with Alternative Plastics Search to locate lower-cost offsets. The Resin Pricing Report is accessible through Prospector, an annually licensed data service, and Prospector which is a complimentary database of plastic material data sheets for buyers and specifiers of resin.
