IDES Prospector Gets Faster With New Search Technology and Data Display

Today IDES announced the addition of two speed-enhancements to the new interface for Prospector, the flagship program that enables businesses of all sizes to quickly find and access technical plastic material datasheets.

The new version of the Prospector plastics search engine now includes 90% faster search capabilities that displays search results in a fraction of a second. Also datasheets in Prospector are dynamically generated from a proprietary database created by IDES and display in 50 milliseconds versus a previous display speed of 2 seconds.

By listening closely to customer feedback and iterating rapidly, IDES has redesigned the Prospector interface with the goal of making material selection faster, clearer and more intuitive. To that end, searching for plastics is now simpler, data more accessible, and many new features have also been added.

The new basic version of Prospector is available to all plastics-related companies worldwide for free. Enhanced subscription-based capabilities include searching for alternative plastics, locating plastics approved for automotive applications, and property search, helping plastics design professionals quickly and easily locate plastics meeting their application’s demanding requirements from an available list of more than 400 material properties.
