Bayshore Resilience - ASTM D2632

Resilience is the ratio of the energy released in deformation recovery to the energy that caused the deformation. Resilience ranges from 100% for perfectly elastic materials, to 0% for perfect absorbers. Bayshore Resilience results provide an estimate of the energy-absorbing characteristics of a material.

Testing is performed by dropping a standard weight ball from a height of 16 inches onto a test specimen. The rebound height of the ball is measured.

Bayshore Resilience is calculated using the formula:
Bayshore Resilience = h2 / h1
where h2 is the rebound height and h1 is the drop height.
