The cyclic flexural stress a material can withstand for the specified number of cycles. This test measures the ability of a material to withstand cyclic stresses.
Test specimen is supported as a cantilevered beam and is subjected to an alternating force at one end. The alternating applied stress and the cycles to failure are recorded.
 
The triangular shape of the test specimen is intended to produce a constant stress along the length of the test section of the specimen.
