Accelerated Oven Aging - ISO 4577
The time to failure at elevated temperature. A measure of the thermal oxidative stability of polypropylene and polypropylene copolymers in air. Specimens are placed in a rotating assembly in an oven and are brought to an elevated temperature until the specimens fail. Failure is determined by visual inspection and is defined as localized discoloration, crumbling, or crazing. Oxidation of polypropylene generally takes place on the surface before moving inward.
